Overnight with a 1 month old???
Hubby and I are planning a 1 or 2 night "getaway" so to speak with the baby for early September! He is taking a few weeks off starting next week when I have the baby, so we planned on doing little day trips here and there! But, I want to stay over somewhere close for 1 or 2 nights, would you think I'm nuts with a 1 month old? My parents have a house at the shore, so we are thinking of just going there? Do you think it's ok??? I figure, what's the difference if I'm sitting at home, or sitting in a nice beach house, where we can walk on the boardwalk early in the morning with the baby, then again at night. Obviously, we wouldn't go to the beach when it's very hot, but maybe like an hour or so around 10 or 11??? Please be honest...I can take it! LOL

its absoltely fine to take him to your parents house @ the shore - we drove to VA and stayed overnight in a hotel when DS was 3 wks old!

Re: Overnight with a 1 month old???
we went to the jersey shore when my DS was very young. It was fine! At least I was tired on the beach lol. Actually he slept better there! We put him in one of those little beach tents and he snoozed away! He even did better at night - all that ocean air I guess.

I went away for 3 nights when DS was about 2.5 month old. We brought his PNP and he slept just fine! I thought the same as you--what difference does it make if you're sitting around at home or someplace else? I say go for it!

Re: Overnight with a 1 month old???
Totally fine, IMO.
I drove up here to LI last night from DC b/c we haven't had power at our house since last Sunday...we needed some AC. DD will be 4 weeks on Friday and was a champ throughout the car ride. The only peeps she made was when she was hungry at her normal 3 hr intervals and had a dirty diaper.
Go and enjoy!
