britax boulevard, marathon or advocate??
i have to get 3 convertible seats in the next few weeks
DS has a marathon and we're happy with it. the only thing i don't like it having to rethread the straps, but i don't want to spend an extra $100 because of that alone. some ladies on here gave me great websites, but i'm going back and forth between them.
i'm going to get the same seat for all 3 of us (mom, me, DH). the advocate didn't even exist when DS was born as far as i know and the boulevard was just out.
which would you get and why? is it worth the extra $100 each for 3 seats for the advocate vs the marathon? i don't know if i should just get the exact seat DS has so they're the same.

Re: britax boulevard, marathon or advocate??
For my car i got the boulvard - i like not having to rethread - keeps my son's head from flapping
my mom's car i got the evenflo 65 - he goes in there once a week - it goes up to 100lbs - transforms to booster- no retreading - but does not give my son good head support when he sleeps - it flops forward
for my dh we are getting a recaro - goes up to 40lbs rear facing - rated just as high as the britax by baby bargains - i don't know about neck support when sleeping yet
i would check the rear facing limits and base it off the size of your child and how long you expect to keep them back ward - i want to make 2 years but i have a big son so we may max out earlier - the new britax that come out in august i think all go to 40lbs rear facing
also if we don't get the recaro - i will probably get the advocate for my dh's car because he is getting a jeep wranger and i want more side impact protection- side impact crashes are less common but much more dangerous when they occur - i used to work in Ford's safety R&D department

All 3 seats are great choices, you cannot go wrong with any of them. The only advatage to the Boulevard and Advocate is that you can adjust the straps without removing them.
As far as the head coming forward in the Evenflo, check that the seat is not being pushed forward by the headrest of the car, if the headrest can be removed, do so. It may be worth haveing the seat checked to see if the installation can be improved.
The Recaro is a great seat and should not pose problems with the head. Just remember that nothing shuld be added with regard to head support that did not come with the seat. You should never use after market head supports or anything that goes between the child and the seat.

I. personally would go with whatever has the largest rear facing weight. I have the marathon which is 35 and my 20 month old is almost 31 lbs...I want to keep trhem rear facing as long as possible

Can I ask what you're rethreading on the Marathon? I'm not rethreading anything each time I put him in the seat. I had to rethread the straps to the proper height when we started using it and will again when he grows. Your statements lead me to believe you are rethreading something each time???
OP... we have the Marathon in my car and Roundabout in DH's. I like them both for various reasons. I do like the Marathon a bit better because it has the strap cozies where the Roundabout does not. And I also think the strap loosening latch is easier to find/grab on the Marathon. But so far I do like them both. Roundabout is smaller if that's a helping issue.
