Fall clothes, what size?

Riley was 30 1/4 inches at her 12 month appt and 22 lbs 8 oz.

She's currently wearing mostly 18 months clothes- a little big on her but the right length I suppose. It's just a pain that she's so tall but doesn't max out at the weight for these things!

I'm particularly looking at fall clothes at Old Navy/Gap...
do you think I should continue to get 12-18 months (29-31 inches, 22-27 lbs)?
or get 18-24?

I'm so bad at this stuff!

Thanks!Chat Icon

When in doubt, always go bigger. At least that's the rule I follow. I know, it's very scientific Chat Icon. But being that she is tall I think it may be a safer bet.

Re: Fall clothes, what size?

DS is the same height and a few oz. heavier. We bought him 18-24 mo. @ the gap last week when we went fall shopping. It's a little roomy now, but i'd like them to last into winter if possible.

Side note..in Carter's, we got size 24 mo's b/c they seemed to run smaller. HTH

18 - 24 months... this way they will last all season. I hate buying more clothes b/c the first ones don't fit anymore.

Thanks everyone!

I just worry if I get the bigger size now and let's say she's wearing them in late Sept/early Oct...she'll be tripping over her pants when she's walking!Chat Icon

DD was just about the same size and height when she was 1 - DD was just a little bit bigger. I think I would still get 12-18 months or just 18 months for her if it's from Gap, Gymboree, or Childrens Place. If it's from Old Navy I would get her 24 months/2T - they tended to run short on DD and always seemed tight. Also the name brands at BRU like Koala Kids and Miniwear seemed to run small on her too so sometimes I would get her 24 months in that too.

Re: Fall clothes, what size?

Samantha has been wearing 18 month sizes now since April (she is almost 18 months now). They are still fitting pretty well and some are actually on the bigger side, but she's a shorty like her momma! I've only been buying her now 24/2T sizes now for the Fall/Winter. I'm sure some of her 18 month stuff will still fit her.

I would go up a size for Riley! Chat Icon

DS is the same size and he is in all 24 months. 18 months are getting too tight on his belly.

Re: Fall clothes, what size?

I was thinking of going bigger for the fall. I thought that most of those clothes will last through the winter so it made sense for me to go bigger.

As far as pants.. I am looking at the ones with the adjustable waistband.

Re: Fall clothes, what size?

I sort have the same issue right now.

I am probably going to buy him what will fit him through Christmas, and reassess the situation after he gets all his presents on 12/25.

for now I am buying him 12-18 months but anything bigger will be TOO big and with him being so active I don't want him tripping over his clothes or being encumbered by them.

HTH.

Re: Fall clothes, what size?

Mia is currently in 12-18. I ordered 18-24 for the fall. Mia was 29.5 inches and 19.6 pounds at her 9 month visit, so I am guessing her and Riley are somewhere near the same size range.
