Update - 11 month old will only eat Yo Baby
Hi Mommies,
I need help!
My 11 month old has become a ridiculously picky eater.
She drinks between 16-24 ounces of her Similiac Sensitive a day and I have been trying to give her 3 meals a day.
She gags on anything that doesn't have the consistency of baby food .... but now she doesn't even want to eat baby food. ANY KIND, FLAVOR, NOTHING!
Then you give her a 4 ounce Yo Baby yogurt and she eats it in two seconds!!
What am I going to do? She needs food!
Should I mix fruit, veggies and protein baby food with the Yo Baby yogurt so she'll eat it? That just seems so gross.
Please help .... I just don't know what to do.

I would definitely mix the other foods with the yogurt and call my ped.

Will she eat table food? Maybe she doesn't want the baby food anymore. ETA I just saw you wrote she gags on other things, but what have you tried?

Hi, yeah she won't eat any table foods, I haven't been making my own baby food, using Gerbers but as far as table foods .... I've tried Avocado, Puffs, Chicken ground up, bananas.
Anything that isn't smooth as silk, makes her gag but now she's making eating regular Gerbers baby food a big project.
She screams and cries, we have to dance on our heads to get her to eat anything.
But the bottle of formula she takes no problem.
Am I all alone on this?

I mix it w/ fruits or veggies. Have you tried the yo baby meals? they are a combo of fruit/veggie/yogurt. DS LOVES them!

I would talk to your ped about maybe getting her feeding therapy, or you can call EI, they may be able to help.

Your DD sounds exactly like my son. He just turned 1 last weekend so they're only a month apart. He gags on anything. He's been on stage 2 babyfood since 7-8 mons, but that's it. Loves Yo baby too and the similac. If the babyfood is too think he gags. Gags on puffs sometimes too and don't even let me talk about Cheerios. He threw that up.
At the 1 year appt we just had thurs night the Ped suggested we just have him evaluated only b/c he's not progressing. SHe said it may be nothing. He is gaining weight and says some words so it may not be speach. Other than that he's developing great.
FM me if you want, but you're not alone. He's the only one in his room at daycare that's not on the school food.

I just started giving my DD yogurt, which she loves. Last night I mixed it with Avocado (it's the greek yogurt, plain). She loved it. I have mixed peas with pasta too. No harm in mixing whatever together to get them to eat. Whatever works

Do they make whole milk greek yogurt? I've been looking but couldn't find any!

DS was like that for a while. He is almost one and still has no teeth but will eat much more soft foods now like meatballs, pasta, applesauce, steamed carrots, etc...
I used to mix fruit with the Yo Baby yogurt all the time either the jars or regular applesauce. Definitely do it.
Hang in there. Eventually it will get better!

Thanks Ladies - I guess for the first time, I have hit the reality that I might need help with this and that she might not develop the eating table food skills on her own, she has dealt with acid reflux and has always had a sensitive stomach but since we will soon be transitioning her to whole milk, without eating enough food, I fear she won't be getting all the nutrition she needs, since we'll be stopping formula.

I know you are worried, but my DD started hating baby food and didn't like table food at 11 months. I swear at 13 months it was a different kid!! I think wait until after her 1 year old birthday, a lot will change in 2 months you watch!!!

Thank You!!! I put in a call to the ped but I think you're right, I should give it a little more time, but I'm glad to have learned about EI through this website and all the terrific Mommies! I was unaware.

I am not a BTDT mom - but if your DC isn't going to eat table food, there is a older baby/toddler version of similac - maybe the doc would tell you to change to that for the added nutrition?

Ok so I just got off the phone with the doc .... their opinion, my DD is being stubborn ... their suggestions .... no more playing games, singing and standing on our heads to get her to eat her Gerbers baby food.
Give it a try, if she doesn't want to eat, walk away, hold off on the bottle for a bit and try again later.
No talk of concerns that she's 11 months old and not eating table foods, just that this is a stubborn streak, nothing more?!?!
I don't know .... but I guess I'll give it a try ... then said a few days ... it doesn't work ... call them back.
What do you think?????

Have you tired giving her table food?? My DD hated all the jar foods so I had to make alot of stuff for her. Maybe try a sweet potato or mashed potato's, cheese?

I'd actually try other foods again. Cut some stuff up and let her eat it herself. She may be trying to assert some independence.
Try some ripe banana or cheese. Those have always been favorites of my DC.

I went through this with DD. She would only eat YoBaby so I mixed in fruits, cereals and veggies. Once we stopped formula at 12 months, her appetite increased significantly. She is now eating many table foods. It will get better!

they make yo baby yogurt 3 in one, its veggie and fruit and yogurt.
DS tried peaches and sweet potato flavor and he seemed to like it.

I see no harm in trying. What's a few days. After a couple of days, if it still doesn't work call them back.

I make all of her food and she used to eat various fruits/vegs UNTIL she tasted yogurt and now it's all that she'll eat! It's plain, full fat greek yogurt and she will not let me mix anything in. She's gaining appropriately and meeting her milestones but I'm fearful of how this will affect her future eating. Just curious if you found anything that worked......

Hi, My dd did this when I first started giving her yogurt too. I would ONLY serve it to her with something mixed it, I started with a little bit then increased the other food little by little. Now she is back to eating anything, still LOVES yogurt though!

First off I know what you're talking about with the gagging. I remember we spoke about this b4 b/c Mason is the same way 
He is getting a drop better, but it's a lot of work with him and working on the eating. BTW... we had an EI Specialist and he doesn't qualify, but they did give me some tricks to work with him on it. FM me if you'd like
As the Ped said... just keep working on it with her. Keep trying the baby food. Put on her fav show or songs.
Personally I wouldn't give less of the bottle b/c that's where she gets most of her nutrients, but that's my opinion.
