When going to your pre-natal visits, does the doc always....
perform an internal or external exam? I am concerend, because I only received internal exams twice in the beginning of my pregnancy. He does not do them anymore...is this the case with everyone else?

Internals only at the first exam, and then after 36 weeks they start up again for me.

I have not had a internal exam at all, and i am now 27 weeks. I had my last pap a month before I got pregnant so there was no need to do another one. The doctor only has used a doppler to hear the heart beat so far. And obviously i've done the standard sonos

Same here, I'm 25 weeks and haven't had an internal yet. I had gotten my regular pelvic exam a few months before my first appt, so they didn't need to do it again.

I think I had one in the very beginning, then I had one at 30 weeks b/c I was contracting. Now I will get another one at 36 weeks until the baby comes!

I haven't had a sono since 19 weeks. I haven't had an external exam since the very beginning. I had an internal in the beginning as well, then at my last appointment (23 weeks) because I had been having pain and she wanted to double check something.

my internals start next week at my 36 week appt and then every week until  arrives. My appts up until this point have been pee in a cup, get weighed and measure the belly.
ETA: can I just say that at this point peeing in a cup is quite comical!

I only had an internal at my first appointment; other than that regularly scheduled sono's and standard weight, measurements and pee tests every 4 weeks... in and out in 15 minutes!

Had one in the beginning and my next will be on Thursday @36w. I think my OB does it every visit from then on. Not too sure though.

I was seeing an RE until I was 9w and all she did was internals. Then my OB/GYN gave me an internal at 9w and again yesterday (as well as an external) at 12w for my NT scan.

No need for an internal every time.
Just the first visit and towards the end when they look for dilation/progression.
Thank GOD for that! I would die if I had to get naked every time.

Internals don't start until week 36. Some start them even later than that.

I had an internal and exam since it was time for my yearly at my first visit, an internal at 34 weeks because I thought I was contracting and then one at the beginning of this week, two days after I hit 38 weeks. I don't know if I'll get one next week at my 39 week because I have a friend who goes to the same OB and I remember him not giving her one at that appointment.

Internal at the beginning and then my office doesn't start them again until 38 weeks unless there is an issue or problem.
