Ques re: Insurance and Doc visits
I was wondering what your insurance allows, as for how many well visits are covered within the 2 yrs of age?
TIA!

Re: Ques re: Insurance and Doc visits
The pediatrician (same one you go to ) told me that they only allow a certain amount of wellcare checks a year. They never gave me an amount though.
I have Cigna and it totally sucks. We have to pay 25 dollars for sick visits. I also had to pay 25 dollars for a weight check.
I need to call up Cigna and find out the details too.
You have to watch that lady at the counter...she asked us for 25 dollars when we came for a wellcare visit. My dh was like...um, this is a wellcare visit, it says $0 for wellcare. She was like...Oh...yeah, you're right.
Sneaky.
Sorry I hijacked the post.

Re: Ques re: Insurance and Doc visits
We've had 2 different United Healthcare plans since dd was born. I can't remember how many well baby visits we were allowed, but they were all covered. It was close for dd's first year, but since her last visit rolled over into the next calendar year it ended up being covered.
With the first plan we had to pay a $20 co-pay for both sick and well visits.
With the second we only pay a $20 co-pay for sick visits.

Plans within the same insurance company are different. We have cigna and pay $10 for sick and well visits. As of Jan 1st we will have a different Cigna plan with no copay for well visits.

Re: Ques re: Insurance and Doc visits
It depends on what your company agreed upon. It can change within the same insurance.
We have Oxford freedom plan - and she got unlimited well visits (we went 1x a month) the 1st year. No copay unless it is a sick visit. 2nd year there were no restrictions either. She goes every 3 months from age 12-24 months - also no copay for well visits. Sick visits are $15. My DH's firm wanted to make sure they got really good insurance and had access to top doctors b.c of what they do - so he has a really good plan that really covers us.
