Oatmeal in Bottle
My son is 3 weeks old...VERY fussy etc...dr said he has reflux. He wants me to put oatmeal in his bottle. I use Avent bottles...I tried stage 1 and 2 nipples...NOTHING comes out bc oatmeal is thick. I then tried 3 which says its for thicker liquids...HOWEVER, TOO much comes out and he is VERY uncomfortable drinking out of that nipple.
DO THEY SELL AVENT NIPPLES for a newborn that needs oatmeal in the bottle?

You need to buy smaller nipples and widen them - we do cross-cuts with the tip of a steak knife. Buy a couple of extra nipples because it's trial and error.

Have you tried switching formula? I put rice cereal in both my kids bottles but not until later on. 3 weeks seems kind of early.

im not sure about avent, but they do make Y cut nipples. i tried them for our dr. browns when using rice. I found the flow to be way too fast for DS...but you should check if Avent makes a different cut hole at the top.

I'm kinda scared to cut the nipple myself..i'm scared i willl make it too big and make him choke. We did change formula..he was on similac advance..now he is on good start gentle ease...and i also pump. Thanks...maybe i should just call avent.....i didnt think of that...duh
