I honestly just had the most traumatic experience. I need to vent....

I don't even know where to begin, but I need to get this out because I'm so upset.
So Ava had a dentist appointment today to get her teeth cleaned and to follow up on when she knocked her teeth loose a couple of weeks ago.
JT and I got her ready to go, got in the car, got up the block from our house and all of a sudden, my car broke down. It was like a bad joke because with this dentist, if you cancel last minute, they charge you $550, which is freaking insane. So I called the dentist and said my car broke down, but i'll be a few minutes late.
So I call my mom who lives a couple of minutes away to come get me and Ava while my husband deals with the car (btw, we only have one car this week because my husband is having body work done to his). So, I'm soaking wet and we get to the dentist like 8 minutes late. I sign in and they come get Ava.
As we walk in, the hygienist says nastily to me, "I thought you were going to call if you'd be late?" I said, "I did call and say I'd be a few minutes late, but I'd call back if I had to cancel," so she says, "Honestly, if I knew you were going to be this late, I'd have told you not to come." All in a nasty tone, so in a strong tone I said, "I'm sorry, but my car broke down on the side of the road and we did what we could to get here on time," so she says, "Maam, I'm not yelling at you, I'm just saying..."
So now I'm almost in tears. I'm 30 weeks pregnant, my only car just broke down, I'm soaking wet AND i am not at the dentist with a terrified three year old with no back-up from my husband.
So that's when all hell breaks loose. Ava refused to sit in the chair. She was screaming these blood-curdling screams, my hands were full with my bag, her coat, my coat, etc., there was no where to put anything down and the hygienist didn't offer to take something for me or to help get Ava in the chair. Ava now had me so tight around the neck that I could barely breathe, and this woman is just staring at me not helping. Finally, after like 10 minutes of her screaming and crying, the dentist comes in and says that she'll check her teeth out while she's standing and we can reschedule her cleaning. So, still, no one has offered to take anything in my hands, or give me a place to sit or anything, no one's trying to help get my terrified three year old to calm down, nothing. So, I'm still kneeling and I said to Ava, "My back hurts, honey, I have to move you," and as I shift her, she thinks I'm about to put her in the chair, so she pushes me, I fall backwards and there's nothing to catch myself on, I crack my head on the cabinet, then on the wall, hit my hip on the corner of the electric box under the chair and then Ava starts screaming bloody murder again and dives on top of me. It was the single most horrific experience of my life. While they asked me if I was ok, no one offered to help me up, no one offered to help get Ava off of me or take anything from me so I could get up. Instead, they said, "You should have had your husband bring her." I lost it at that point. I said, "I should have had my husband bring her?! HE'S ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IN THE POURING RAIN WITH MY CAR THAT BROKE DOWN!" Granted I didn't scream that, but I wasn't too nice about it at the point. So now Ava's screaming bloody murder still, I'm crying, they're asking me to leave and I go out to the waiting room only to find that I'm stranded there because my mom, who went up the block to pick my dad up, still wasn't back.
Omg, I seriously cannot even begin to tell you how upset I am right now. I have a huge lump on my head, my hip has a huge lump and a bruise on it, my neck is killing me and what does my husband say? "I should call to apologize for Ava's behavior and reschedule." Um, EXCUSE ME?! They were NASTY to me and didn't even offer to help me in any way, shape or form and you want to call to apologize to THEM?!?! I can't even. I'm just so upset right now and hurt that my husband didn't even care to stand up for me. Plus, on top of it, the timing belt went in my car, so now we have no car, I can't even take anything for how banged up I am and my husband's an asswipe. Chat Icon
