Disney vacation - When to go

I'm a teacher so my choices are

Xmas Break - leaving on the 25 and coming home the 1st. Easter Break- flying home on Easter. Last week in June

Any advice on the better time to go as far as crowds and air prices? We went a couple yrs ago over New Years and I didn't think it was to bad but we didn't have any kids with us.

My daughter will be 2 in Jan and it will be her 1st trip.

Thanks

Re: Disney vacation - When to go

I booked quite a few teaching professionals over Easter / Spring break this year, so that seems to be the most popular. Since school breaks this time of year can vary so widely, the crowd levels are more dispersed than your other two options. Weather is also a factor, and although you have to consider rainfall, this will be the most mild time of year to go.

The last week of June is your second-best option in my opinion. Not because it is a great time to go, but because it is a better option than the week between Christmas and New Year. Most schools that follow a traditional schedule have now dismissed, and the parks and resorts are beginning to fill up. Weather is a little warmer than I would like when touring the theme parks, but excellent if you're going to hang around the resort pool or the water parks. I believe Disney hosts their "Star Wars Weekends" in June also, so there may be increased crowd levels, especially at Hollywood Studios.

The week between Christmas and New Years (again, in my experience) is NOT a good time to go to Disney. The resorts and parks are normally extremely crowded, and you will pay a premium to stay on-site. The property is beautifully decorated and being at Disney around the holidays is amazing, but I don't recommend this particular week to any of my clients, especially those with younger children.

Hope that helps!
Bob
