Oh how annoying! (Gap promo related)
I recently spent a LOT of $$ in The Gap and Banana Republic. Then I got the 30% code. I wrote to ask about a price adjustment and it states that it is not valid for price adjustments. (it does, I checked.) What should I do? Return everything and buy it again? Aaarrrggghhh!
PS- The code would save HUNDREDS of dollars.

The Gap by me will not let you return the items just to re-purchase. The lady just looked at me and said.."You can't do that, I will not do that for you," and looked at me like I was crazy. I couldn't believe it. I didn't want to make a scene so I just said never mind but I was still shocked. Thankfully nobody was in the store at the time..I would have been mortified. She made me sound like total white trash.
just an fyi...your gap may have the same policy.

they may not let you rebuy the actual merchandise you are returning so I would find everything in the store in your sizes and do two separate transactions, buy everything "new" with the coupon and then return what you previously bought. pain in the a** but at least you can then save the $$

I would find the same things in the store, buy it with the coupon, and return the full-price stuff previously bought the next day.

Just to annoy her I would walk out, walk back in, pick up all the stuff I just returned off the shelves and hand her the 30% coupon. Probably with a "I guess you WILL do the return for me".
Once you return those items she can not stop you from making a purchase. Imagine if their corporate office found out they denied a sale. The lady can be an azzzz and not lsales adjust but she cant stop you from shopping after the return.

They will do the return/rebuy -- just ask for a manager if they give you a problem. Tell them you will call corporate if not. My BFF is a manager there and told me that there is NO rule that says you cannot return and rebuy. He said she (meaning the woman in the case given above by a poster) just made that up to be a biiatch.

yeah I've done it before at Macy's and other stores and never had a problem.
the sales lady was like 80 years old..so I'm sure she didn't want to be bothered with me.
I kind of felt bad for her. If she was my age I would have so gotten an attitude with her.
I guess I just couldn't imagine yelling at my grandmother.. ; )
I am going to go to another store and try it..haha.

Oh I don't tell them. I return first. Then go back in the store and rebuy everything. They never want you to do that. This is really so stupid. They can't stop you from returning but then you can't return if you want to rebuy. So you just don't tell them. When asked if I want to exchange. I tell them I want to look around and not sure I will find something so I finalize the return first. Then go back in store.
It's a PITA but if I save more than $30 then it's justified to me. OP said HUNDRED... Heck yes!!!!
Unless it's an item that was no longer available then I would not return it.

Maybe bring a friend or DH and have the other person repurchase everything. Then there is NOTHING they can say. If one person wants everything that someone else returned, who are they to judge?

I think you should go into the store, buy the stuff with the coupon, then do a return using the other reciept. They probably won't let u do a price adjustment b/c the coupon is valid for specific dates.
