Cranky pants post of the day- Feel free to join!

I am assuming it's the hormones (or at least I am blaming it on that!) but lately people are really rubbing me the wrong way!

My official complaint of the day is the fact that everyone I see who knows I am pregnant has to immediately look down at my belly to see if I have one yet. This is before they even make eye contact with me or say hello.
It's almost like an automatic reflex.
(Kind of like when men's eyes immediately go to a girls cleavage area! Like they can't help it or something.)

I got annoyed yesterday and snapped- "If you are looking for a belly, look elsewhere. I have nothing to show you yet!"

I know I'm being mean. I know. I admit it. I know that it's a normal reaction for people and they are just "happy" for me. (I have heard all the logical explanations from my husband and mom- trust me!)
But I'm sorry, it rubs me the wrong way.

Then I have to hear how small I am and get asked the 100 questions. Are you eating? What did the Dr say? Is the baby big enough?
GOD PLEASE MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS.

I am fine. I am gaining plenty of weight, trust me. I am carrying small, yes. That is probably due to the fact that I am very tall. The baby is fine- my Dr is NOT concerned at all.

And I know these same people would have what to say if I was carrying big. (Oh are you sure it's not twins, wow look how HUGE you are, you are ready to pop, etc etc)

OK vent over- I had to get it out.

Feel free to add your cranky pants complaints to this thread.
Trust me, it helps! I feel SOOO much better! Chat Icon

Re: Cranky pants post of the day- Feel free to join!

I am SO tired of people saying to me at work "You're still here!"

Yes, where else would I be? Chat Icon

I am also tired of constantly feeling like I am going to pee my pants - then getting to the bathroom and having almost nothing come out. I am happy though because I know this is further proof that I dropped, which never happened with DS.

I am tired of the heartburn.

I am tired of maternity clothes!

And I am SOOOOO PIZZED that I have stretch marks on my lower belly Chat Icon I just got them a few days ago, never had them with DS, and I want to scream I am so upset. Chat Icon

I am cranky because every emotion I feel is due to "pregnancy hormonal soup", according to some family members. If I have a cross opinion, it is just because I am pregnant Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon No wonder I am waiting to tell people Chat Icon

You must know my sister Chat Icon Chat Icon She actually had the nerve to tell me that she has walked around on eggshells around me since I was pregnant with DS (possibly before then but whatever). Yeah, it's not that you have a right to an emotion or opinion or anything silly like that. Chat Icon

I used to get that from my DH before I was pregnant- he would blame it on PMS.
Everythign was due to PMS.
A clerk screwed me in a store and I spoke up- must be due to PMS.
I didn't agree with him on a purchase- PMS.
I was mad at my mom- PMS.

Re: Cranky pants post of the day- Feel free to join!

Older secretaries at work asking what I eat every day for lunch to make sure I'm eating enough. Or will literally look at what I'm eating and say I need more of this or that. Or ONE in particular who tells me daily A) I'm not gaining enough weight B) I look pale.

Apparently they all have their MDs but work here for the heck of it??

This is extremely peddy..yes I know...BUT...I hate when people feel the need to let me know they got my shower gift...but they decided to get something on their own. I mean..I TRULY appreciate that they are getting me a gift at all. But, I have about 100 things on my registry that I carefully researched and picked out. WHY cant u just stick to the registry. It is annoying.

Not petty. (And even if it was, this thread is for ALL vents- petty or not! Chat Icon)

I feel like- the registry is there for a reason. People go through a ton of trouble and stress to research everything and pick what they want and need and like.
Why anyone feels the need to push their will on you by getting you something else that THEY see fit is just plain annoying to me!

ITA. My shower was this weekend and I got a few things that were not on my registry (that I don't need/want) and of course they came without gift receipts, so I can't even exchange them for the things I wanted because I don't know what store they came from Chat Icon Chat Icon

But my cranky pants post of the day is about my mom who just told me tonight that I have to make sure to lose the pregnancy weight within the first 3 months after the baby is born otherwise I will never lose it Chat Icon
Mind you, at 37 weeks I'm only up 11lbs so it's not like I gained a huge amount of weight!!!!! Ugh that pi$$ed me off...

I love this thread...

I am tired of the fact that people feel that its perfectly acceptable to comment on the size of my chest or my weight. The other day, a secretary in my office saw me walking down the hall and exclaimed:

Wow, youre finally getting heavy!

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I replied,

Really, so are you !!

Chat Icon Chat Icon
She's not pregnant and it shut her up!

I am done with people making comments like this and I have decided to turn any future comment back on them. If one more person comments on the size of my chest or my weight, I am going to comment right back on theirs !! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Love your response to her! Chat Icon Chat Icon

And I must say about the chest thing.
I work in an office with a ton of men- and we have no HR department. It's basically a free for all.
I had one of the guys say to me - after I told him I was pregnant- "oh wow, congrats! I knew something was up because your cans have been getting HUGE!"
