Do you warm up their baby food?
My mom is giving me grief because I don't warm up James' fruits/veggies or oatmeal before feeding him. I truly don't think there's any harm in giving him room temp food, right?
Sooooooo - do you or don't you warm up their food?

Re: Do you warm up their baby food?
Nope, never warmed his food up. Warm fruits sounds gross anyway. I don't want Mason to get used to it. Even when I started the sippy cup the britta is right from the fridge and he's fine with it. Only warm his bottle to room temp. He won't drink it if it's too warm... he swats it like... mommy No warm milk

Ann's food is homemade frozen cubes so I nuke for 15 secs to defrost but not so it's heated up for her.
The other day at daycare, I noticed they were warming a bottle for her and I thought it was funny since at home she gets her bottles straight from the fridge!

nope, from fridge to mouth
Am I the only one who feeds cold food? I thaw frozen food in the fridge and then give it to him.

Re: Do you warm up their baby food?
room temp, no warming. Same with her bottles. Unless she was refusing it, i dont see any reason to make her high maintenance with things like that.

Exactly my point!
I keep telling my mom that I don't want him getting used to "warmed" things because it will be a nightmare for me when we're out and about when I have to feed him. Even now, though we warm his bottles, they are just warmed to room temp, even a little cooler, just to take a little chill out of them. He has no problem drinking an ice cold bottle either.
She made no bones about telling me how mean I am because I don't warm his food.

If it's room temp, I don't warm it. If vegetables have been in the fridge, I warm them to room temp, but I'll serve her fruit cold.

Re: Do you warm up their baby food?
I use room temperature bottled water for DS's formula. He never had a problem with it. Then about a month ago my Mom was watching him and she started to warm up the water before giving his bottle to him. He got used to it. He will drink room temp when we go out or if he is really hungry. I told her I didn't want him to get use to that. She keeps telling me that he likes it better this way. Nice guilt trip.

Same here!!! I never warmed his room temp bottles or jarred food or oatmeal. When I made my own....I would first defrost it in the refrigerator the night before and then warm it in the bottle warmer. I was a nut about using the microwave.
Now If I am reheating (lets say chicken soup), I will warm it in the microwave.

Re: Do you warm up their baby food?
I warm it! But he also doesn't mind cold food, because obviously his yogurt is cold. And he likes ice cream. I also warm his bottles.
But I feel like my house's room temp is kind of on the cold side...

Nope I never warmed up the jar food or oatmeal. I only started warming up his food once he was eating regular meals and was off of jar food.
