Anyone's Dr. put them on Lerozole instead of Clomid?

Hi Ladies,
I am seeing Dr. braverman. I went there today and he put me on 2.5mg of Letrozole. However, the girl that wrote the script wrote LetrAzole. I go to CVS get my script filled and come home with the generic form of Letrozole, Femara. My mom was on Femara for Breast cancer so i thought maybe they gave me the wrong script at CVS. I came home and looked up LetrAzole and the first thing i see is for use with Fertility. I look up LetrOzole and the first thing i see is Famara and said it's for Breast cancer. So i go back to CVS and return the script and get my money back and the prescription. I want to call my Dr. tomorrow before taking this to make sure that CVS is giving me the right script. Anyone's Dr. ever give them Letrozole (Femara)? TIA!

I just got back from Dr.B and he gave me the exact same thing. When do you start? I start taking it on Monday.

Today is CD3 for me. he didnt tell when to start taking it so i figured i would start tonight but i guess not. he told me to come back thursday next week to see if he can release an egg? So did you fill it yet? Did you get Femara?

Mine will be delivered and I'm starting on Monday, then going back on the following Monday. He told me it takes a week after starting to get results

I guess the protocol is different for everyone. I'm on CD3 too!

ETA: Since I didn't receive it yet, I don't know if it's letrozole or femmara

letrazole is teh generic form of femara. they are the same thing. dr. b always calls it letrazole but my pharmacy never has it under that name - they always only have the brand name femara.

dr. b prefers it to clomid. i hardly ever hear of him prescribing clomid - he told me himself that he doesn't like clomid due to the side effects (mainly thinning of the uterine lining and reduced CM).

also, just so you know, it isnt officially approved for use with fertility, as it is really a drug for treatment of breast cancer. however it has similar results to clomid in that it makes the brain produce more FSH and follicles. because it isnt "officially" used for fertility, most insurance plans cover it - even when they dont cover infertility or clomid. so its a bonus!

i have been on it 3 times with him already. he won't steer you wrong!

OMG!!!!!!! I was going to take a chocolate but i just kept walking. lol.......I'll take one on Thrusday.

BTW-I just got a phone call from the pharmacy at 9:30pm. They called Dr. Braverman and verified the prescription. Then Dr. Braverman called 2 minutes later to explain everything to me and DH. I feel like such a fool.

damn there wasnt any chocolate there at 8:30am! i always miss the good snacks!
