Question about cycles, etc.
I am curios if anyone can answer this. Next time I go to the Gyno I will (but thats not for 6 months).
You can ONLY get pregnant when you are ovulating yes???
If your cycle is 28 days, you ovulate about 15 days in-ish. So you can ONLY get pregs when the egg is realeased. (there must be an egg to fertalize).
Can you get pregnant the day after your period is over?? I dont see how that can be possible right? there must be an egg to fertalize right??
Just looking to see how right/wrong I am.
Thanks for your insight ladies. And to you all.

Re: Question about cycles, etc.
you can only get preg when you ovulate. but everyone ovulates at different times. the "average" is day 14 of a 28 day cycle - but most woman aren't textbook like that. just because someone has a 28 day cycle doesn't necessarily mean they O on CD14 or 15 - although many will..each woman is different and the same woman can O at different times in different cycles (ie. CD14 one cycle, CD20 another cycle).
that being said, if you have a long AF - lets say for 7 days (Yikes) - theoretically you could possible O as early as CD8 - so technically yes you could get preg right after AF - but i would think it's very uncommon. but it is possible.

Yes you can only get pregnant when you're ovulating but realize too that because sperm can live up to 5 days inside of you your chances of conception are actually increased to the first few days before and after you actually release an egg and ovulate.
Since you're body needs time to build up your uterine lining and mature your follicles following AF you can't really get pregnant the day after your period. There will be no egg ready at that time.

Re: Question about cycles, etc.
how long does the egg live in the body? and when you estimate that you are O'ing, do you only "try" with DH once those days or multiple times in one day? (sorry if i am asking for TMI)
eta: does EW mean you're O'ing or that you already did or it's going to happen? and what does body temp have to do w/ it? TIA!

Re: Question about cycles, etc.
Technically yes you can get pregnant if you BD day after AF - but its a small chance.
My cycle is 28 days and once I O'd on CD11 - my AF was 7 days long and since the sperm can live up to 5 days - it couldve still been there when I O'd to fertilize.
But again - its a very small chance.

the egg can only live for about 12 hours but since the sperm can survive a few days - most people BD the few days before O and the day of. BDing more than once a day is probably not very effective b/c its not enough time for DH to produce enough sperm
EWCM usually happens right around when you are O'ing - so if you see it you should BD. If your temping - you will see a drop in temp the day you O and then it will rise the next day and stay high (unless AF comes at which point it will drop)

Re: Question about cycles, etc.
Just want to add to the other posts...sperm can only live up to 5 days iin the right conditions--wet CM or EWCM. It can't swim through the thick creamy stuff.
