2nd Birthday Party

What did you do for your DC's 2nd birthday? Did you have a kids party or just a family party? Did you do 2 separte parties?

I just don't know what to do.

Re: 2nd Birthday Party

just a family party (which was about 65ppl) if we had friends it would have been well over 100.

Re: 2nd Birthday Party

We had a big 1st birthday party out. 2nd birthday I did low-key because I was pregnant with just some family and a few close friends at our house...maybe 40 people. 3rd birthday we are doing out a a play place.

Re: 2nd Birthday Party

We did 2 separate parties - one for the kiddies and one for adults. I'm not sure I'd do 2 again - it got expensive.

Re: 2nd Birthday Party

We did 1 party. DD is born in the summer, so we had a pool party at my In-Law's house. DD doesn't have many little kid friends- and none of my relatives have any little kids so it would not make sense for us to have a seperate party.

Re: 2nd Birthday Party

You know we're having Ryan's party out... and since we can have adults for no cost that will be his big party... on his birthday we'll just have cake and dinner with the immediate family.

Re: 2nd Birthday Party

We're just having our family and a couple of friends over to our apt. It's about 35 people. We're doing it low key.

Re: 2nd Birthday Party

We did a party outside at our house (summer baby) with just close family and friends. She's not in daycare so she doesn't really have any "friends" outside of our friends' kids...so we invited our close friends & their kids who she likes to play with, and then just our immediate family...I think it was about 30 adults, 8 or so kids.

Re: 2nd Birthday Party

our house is too small to have alot of people here and we have alot of friends and family and try to combine the party with both so we dont have to have 2 birthday celebrations, So we always have it at a party place. We have had parties at :
white post farm
once upon a tree top
my gym
bear kingdom
ice cream shop

i always felt like it was worth having the party out of the house (thats just my opinion)because most outside party places accomodate for alot of people at once, and there is always a party host that does it all and I could always enjoy my kids at their party, take my own pictures and be with friends and family instead of running around doing everything and having a house to clean up before and after a party.

Im not saying its a bad idea to have it in your home but for alot of people attending, it might just be worth it for you to have it somewhere. Alot of places include goody bags, paper goods, balloons,in the party package price...... most places only ask you to pay for the cake and pizza (or whatever food available)
so i think it ends up cheaper to have it somewhere with all that included, instead of buying it all yourself. you would have to sit down and price everything but it always seemed easier and cheaper to me to have it somewhere. Hope this is helpful! Chat Icon
