Has anyone used honey for a cough?
DD is 3 and has an awful cough. Since you can't give cough medicine I was wondering about honey. Does it work? How much do you give?

My mom used to give me tea with honey. I remember it made my throat feel better.

My doc recommended giving DD (2 1/2) honey straight up when she last had a cough. I tried, but she refused to eat any!

I SWEAR by it. I think its better than any cough medicine anyway. I usually do like 1/2 tsp on the medicine dropper and squirt it slowly into his mouth. Just like I would with medicine. DS is 3 1/2 haven't had to use it this year (knock wood) used it a couple times last winter.

Same here. It helps.
My DD quickly got wise. Even after the cough would subside she would feign coughing just to get some honey

I use the Hyland's Cough with Honey.
It's usable in kids under 4.

I've used cough medicine as well as "chestal cough" it is a homeopathic cough syrup that I think is honey based. I have seen it at CVS

I swear by this. It is honey based (I actually tasted it and it's like watered down honey). It really helps my kids whether it be a wet or dry cough.
