Random thing that hit me while watching 'A Baby Story' today..
The Mommy--to-be on 'A Baby Story' was asked what she would like to give to her baby. Her response was "Roots and Wings. Roots so he/she will know where he/she came from and will have a place to always come back to.. and Wings to go out and experience the world".
I just really loved the way she went on about it, and I really think that giving your child 'Roots and Wings' is the most important gift of all. Very random, but just wanted to share!

There's a song by Dar Williams called The One Who Knows that kind of captures that. It was the song my dad picked for our father-daughter dance at my wedding.
