March moms - nursery question

Is your nursery in the works, done, or not even started yet? We just cleared out the room to start getting it ready but I'm stressing a little since we're getting very close and nothing is done in there yet! Chat Icon

Re: March moms - nursery question

we are in the same boat as you...the new nursery is currently our office...We have not had any time to get it ready!

I totally feel you! The only thing that makes me feel better is that we have a bassinet!

Re: March moms - nursery question

Almost done BUT this is DC #2 AND I am super type A and have to get things done yesterday.

We are officially moving DS #1 into his big boy room tonight and the nursery has been organized. All we need to do is move up the mattress in the crib, set up the bedding, changes the curtains, and a few other little things and it will be set.

I am hoping to do a final cleaning first week in March as well as wash the 0-3 month clothing.

DS #2 is moving into DS#1's nursery but we were supposed to have started the big boy room. That hasn't started yet. I am trying not panic or think about where I should put all the baby stuff in the meantime.

Re: March moms - nursery question

We only have 2 bedrooms so DD#1 and DD#2 will share a room. We will keep DD#2 in our room in a bassinet until I go back to work (already got the bassinet). We are moving DD#1 into a toddler bed in the next month or so. We bought a 2nd dresser and DH is picking it up on Sunday. My mom is buying us the new bedding tomorrow so we'll prob have the room completely set up in the next few weeks.

Re: March moms - nursery question

The nursery is in the works. The floor guys sanded and finished the floor earlier this week. DH painted and is putting up the wainscotting as we speak. It looks great so far. The furniture is in but we are having Behrs hold it until the room is ready. I'm glad DH decided to work on the nursery this week because he is off of work and it is taking forever.

Painted but didn't put up border and furniture is in. Pretty much at a standstill waiting for my shower.

Re: March moms - nursery question

Ugh. We have soooo much to do, and I am starting to freak out. I was hoping to have the floors and painting done before my shower (Jan 17th), but if DH does not get his butt in gear and clean the room out, then that will not happen!

Re: March moms - nursery question

DH finished clearing out the nursery today (finally..it was a disaster)
Then he put up the crown molding, chair rail and primed the walls. Tomorrow night we're going to order the carpet and purchase paint.

The furniture is in and we already received so many things for her that they are being stored all around my AptChat Icon
My shower is Jan 30th so we are giving ourselves until that time to finish

Re: March moms - nursery question

We are not doing a formal nursery-we are going to wait until we are ready to move Miss Bean out of our room, which is huge and where her crib and changing table are going. The crib is getting delivered tomorrow. That is the extent of nursery for me.

Re: March moms - nursery question

I'm due 4/8 but if I'm early like I was with DS then I could be a March mommy Chat Icon

We have 2 rooms upstairs that haven't really been touched since we bought the house. One we used for computer and storage and one was a playroom. So now we are making the storage room the office/playroom and when that's done we will do DD's nursery. Just this weekend my dad and DH started putting down the new flooring so once that's done (hopefully this weekend) then DH can paint and we can move all the toys. Then we will paint DD's nursery and oder carpet for that room. I'm getting nervous, but DH is worse than me. We have the crib and everything already, need a new matress. Actually we have to get DS a new dresser so we can take his for DD since its the one that the changing table goes on. We have a lot to do and DH will be very busy at work now, but the things we have to do are no big jobs, just a lot of little things.

Re: March moms - nursery question

I have not started. Next wknd we'll start the clearing out process. Then the construction can begin. expanding the doorway of the closet, Redoing the inside of the closet, and then install new floors, new moldings, prime and paint and move the furniture in. I'm not too stressed, since I know it will get done by the end of February. And I plan on using a bassinet for a lil bit. I'm more stressed in picking out DS a big boy bed I'm happy with and finding bedding I like!

I'm an April mommy- but very early April so I'm thinking it will end up being March.

We have so many half done projects going on right now that I have barely even thought of the nursery. Chat Icon (Well, I've thought about it- but haven't actually put any plans into gear)

Re: March moms - nursery question

I'm late February and we just started working on the nursery two weeks ago. We had to clear out the whole room (it was our office) and we're now finally completed all of the painting. The furniture will be delivered this week and then I just have to do accessories and putting things away.
