What do I do now?

I posted on here a few weeks ago how my two yorkies are extremely jealous since I had kids. They are using my house as their bathroom. I debated rehoming them but I do love them and wanted to try crate training them again.

Unfortunately it hasn't gone to well. Now my male dog is pooping and peeing in his crate? Chat Icon Chat Icon This is why I said these dogs are apparently untrainable. What do I do now? Any advice would be appreciated Chat Icon

Have you tried a professional trainer? My vet does training on the side. He is amazing.

I have done private training with them and group training in the past. Unfortunately now with 2 kids, I can't afford a private trainer. Dogs normally dont want to go to the bathroom where they are sleeping, this dog apparently has no problem with it.

Re: What do I do now?

How long have you been crating them (this time around)?

Is it a large crate - the larger the crate, the more the dog has to move around and do his business.

We rescued and it is hard to break habits later in life (just like with people!).

He does it when we go out with the kids. he will either poop in his crate or pee outside of it. It could be for 1 hour or 5. He has always been crated when we go out and he is 6 yrs. old. This is nothing new.
