What is the general progression of IF treatment?

Can someone tell me what the general progression for trying to conceive for someone with unexplained infertility?

My first step has been natural cycle monitoring with progesterone... what do doctors generally recommend after that? Did people here go straight to IUI or IVF or is there something in between?

Still very new and unfamiliar to this process, would appreciate any info! Thanks.

It is different for everyone because everyone has different problems. I have pcos so I started off for the first 4 months on metaformin, than we went on to iui. It really depends individually.

With unexplained fertility I did:

Clomid, timed BD w OPK (was away for the ovulation period)

Clomid, IUI

More Clomid IUI

Injections, IUI

IVF.

And, of course, a whole lot of work-up in-between.

We had unexplained IF and this was our progression:

5 rounds of IUI (1 natural, 2 with Clomid, 2 with Follistim)

1 round of IVF=Chat Icon

i have PCOS. so far did
-1 round clomid/dexamethasone
-1 round femara/follistim/dexamethasone

will def be doing femara/follistim/dex again this cycle , just a lower dose of follistim than last time.

so far we are trying everything with timed BD. RE agrees I should be able to get pregnant, i just need help ovulating so we are giving it another cycle or two before upping it to IUI or IVF (we also have no insurance coverage on IUI or IVF yet - although that might change soon since we both may be changing jobs).

It's very different for everyone.

We did 1 cycle of IUI / injectables because I wanted to at least try although my DH has severe MF issues. I have PCOS.

We then went to IVF / ICSI and conceived my DS on the 2nd try.
