AT Loft vent .....

I live right by an Ann Taylor Loft and I'm addicted to that place so I'm there allllllll the time and most of the employees there know me! One reason I love that place so much is I get 15% off when I show a coupon along with my teacher ID. I have been going there with a teacher ID now for almost 2 years, to the point where they rarely even ask to see it...... and in other AT Lofts they don't even ask to see ID!

Well, today I ran out in a hurry to get there because I didn't have much time and left my teacher ID home. I get to the register and this woman who has been a b!tch to me before, says that she cannot put the discount through without my ID. Ugh. I told her this is my first time coming without my ID because it's just been a crazy morning and that I ALWAYS have it. She insists she cannot put the discount through without my ID.

Soooo.. I asked her if she could ask the manager if she could just put the discount through this one time, since she absolutely knows me and knows that I'm a teacher. P.S.- the manager says no! So, I told her to put it on hold already... On the way out, I spoke to the manager myself and told her how disappointed I was since I am there basically EVERY WEEK and they know me there, and I felt bad they couldn't give me the courtesy of just putting the discount through since I would not be able to come back later.


Well......... fast forward to a few sad faces and figment pity story later she told me to get back on the line and she would put the discount through!

Honestly though....... where is the holiday spirit!! Why do they care so much if a teacher happens to save 15% off on some sweaters, it's not like it's coming out of their paycheck!! Just really frustrating...........


In the meantime, I will never go there without my teacher ID ever again So much for knowing me there and all.............

I was just there today and I had the opposite problem!

I had my id, but no discount card. They've always let me just show either my id or my NYS teachers retirement card but today I got "you really should have the discount card in addition to your id"

ITA with you, it's frustrating.

I actually don't have a teacher id. I used to have to show my pay stub or uft card. I just got in the mail a little sticker to put on my credit card that says teacher discount.
