any real estate agents on here?
I have a quick question. We're looking to rent an apt for 6 months. I know the typical commission for a one year lease is whatever the cost of the rent is for 1 month. If we're only renting for 6 months, is the commission usually less? TIA!

not that I am aware of
I would try to find something with out an agent in this case
check out long beach - you will most likely be able to find a short term rental there b/c of all the snowbirds

I don't know too many places that will rent for just 6 months. Your best bet might be to find a month to month rental. As far as the commission goes, no most agents will not take a cut in their commission because the work that they do for the listing of the rental is the same for 6 months or for a year. I would try to find a rental on your own without an agent. Craigs List is a great place to try. Good Luck!

what area are you looking in? there are garden apts that allow pets in massapequa on carmen and merrick road.
i believe you were looking for a home in seaford, this would be close!
(I could be way wrong there. my memory has been shot lately!)

nope you're right - i used to live there! not sure if they offer month-to-month rentals though.
