UPDATE!!
I just came across a website for a Haunted House in Manhattan that seems perfect for someone like me who loves to be terrified. I posted the website below, while you're there - read the rules- they're insane!!! You HAVE to go through it ALONE and they ARE allowed to touch you. I am desperately searching for someone to go with but my friends are a bunch of wusses

I am a person that loves to be freightened but it does not come easily. I am the one who will wear sun glasses in a haunted house in hopes to be scared. The first year at the haunted house in Manhattan (Bad Dreams do come true) I was a little freightened. Since then-nothing.
Soo I am looking for some AWESOME haunted house recommendations for this year ... I was even thinking of taking a ride up to Ulster, NY to see what the Headless Horseman place has to offer...anyone ever been??
Any other recomendations?

I know there is a place outside of Philadelphia that does a HH at an Old Jail. I heard it is VERY scary!

Yeah we went like 2 years ago but it wasn't really scary. I went with 2 guys who were determined to spook me and they were more successful than the actors

if you live in nassau county you have to check out the one in franklin square (see the link)... the guy comes out with a real chainsaw... pretty cool

What about the Bayville Scream Park? I went two years ago and I thought it was pretty good. It was voted "Scariest Haunted House" on Long Island 3 years in a row.

My personal fave is the Darkside in Wading River...they were definitely the best on LI at scaring us.

I have been to The Darkside in wading river, its pretty good. I just wish they would change it because the last few years it has been the same, North Patchogue Fire Department has one and it was pretty good, also Bayville Fire Department is awesome..Its better than the expensive bayville scream park.

So many haunted houses to check out-so little time!!
Darkside definately looks interesting, I need to go to most of these during the week so I can avoid the ridiculously long lines on the weekends.

We did Blood Manor last year in NYC -- and it was okay, but not amazing.
This year we are checking out Headless Horseman in Ulster Park, which is about 2 hours north of Long Island.
Apparently it is always on the top lists by Fangoria and such and is famous for being absolutely terrifying. Hopefully this scares the crap out of me!

OMG...I LIVE in Franklin Square and didn't know about this.
I just forwarded it to my neighborhood friends. That will totally make for an awesome "ladies night" on Halloween. Then the Witches' Brew after for coffee.

A few years back before I met DH - I went to the one in Bayville. 
Let me tell you - I was screaming, heart beating, had to be carried by my friends boyfriend half way through because I refused to move further. I was just that scared sh itless. 
I walked out of there & literally had to peal off the layers of clothing because I was dripping wet from the all the adrenaline pumping through me.
I told my friends who want to go to one this year...I'll hold your coats

Every year I say I'm going to go to one of these haunted houses.
But I chicken out. I get scared when DH jumps out from behind a door and yells boo. I actually cried once
But I really do want to go. I would NEVER be able to do the one in the city...just the thought of walking through by myself is making my heart race

I believe this is the one with a couple of stories tall and if you make it all the way to the top you get your money back i have never been there cause i am a wuss lol
