Did your DC have a reaction to the Hep B shot?
DS had his second dose of the Hep B vaccine today. He had his first dose at birth. The doctor said they dont have any reactions to it, but he hasnt been sleeping all day and he's been pretty cranky. He hasnt napped at all since the shot (at 3:30pm) and its now 11:15pm and he wont go down to bed for the night.
Does the Hep B vaccine have any adverse reactions/effects?

Ds didnt. Could it just be that he is sore at the injection site? Have you tried some tylenol, maybe?

Any vaccine can have a reaction, even if the first one didn't cause a reaction. My DD had no reactions to the Hep B.

I just gave him .5ml of tylenol. Not sure how long it takes to kick in, but I hope it works otherwise neither of us are getting any sleep tonight

This was the one vaccine that my DS didn't have a reaction to - HOWEVER, he got the first two after he turned one so being older and bigger might have something to do with it

my dd didn't sleep at all almost the whole day after her last shot......everyone said she would probably sleep most of the day but she did just the opposite.

I refused teh hep b in the hospital and waited until 2.5 months to get it. My son had a low grade fever and was irritable for 3 days after getting the shot. He just got his second dose at 5.5 months and had no reaction at all.

DS didn't get the first Hep B shot till 1 month and he just got the 2nd part at his 3 month visit. Didn't have a reaction to either, but a little irritable probably from the pain on his leg since he got two shots... the Hep B and polio together

Kaydyn had a reaction to every single shot she got before she turned 1. She got a low grade fever and was cranky the day/night of her appt.
