Going off BC and AF symptoms??
I went off BC in July and had one regular period. I think I am due for my period again now (but who knows how many days my cycle is because I just went off BC). Starting last Friday (CD28) I had terrible cramps like I was getting it for sure- never came. I have had cramps on and off and been tired since(my usual AF symptoms), I tested on Friday to check because I was going to a wedding and wanted to be aware. BFN... I guess my question is when you went off BC did you have AF syptoms although never bleeding? and if I had one regular period after going off should I expect that they will be normal or did any of you have a regular period and then they got wacky? Thanks for any advice.

Re: Going off BC and AF symptoms??
My first cycle off BCP was about 57 days and I called the doctor during that time b/c I was very crampy and bloated around days 35-45 and no AF. He said it was normal to feel off the first few months. Second cycle was 47 days and I was crampy and spotting for 7 days before AF.
I have heard some girls have normal cycles after BCP then they get longer/shorter for no reason at all. I know it's frustrating but hang in there!

Yeah, a lot of girls have posted that their first or even first few were normal, then got wacky. Or, they're wacky from the get-go, so I guess it all depends on the person. I went off in May. My first was 51 days; 2nd, 36 days; 3rd 39 days. With each cycle, I felt AF symptoms for weeks before she arrived. And I'm not positive I O'd. I'm that this month is more normal.
Hang in there.

Re: Going off BC and AF symptoms??
hi there... I'm one of those who went off BC and had 3 normal cycles at first (normal for me is 42 day cycles). Then went 100-something days with no AF and not prego. Dr. evetually put me on provera to bring on period - which it did. Currently at cd38 and still no AF and no ovulation either (been peeing on sticks for weeks and weeks - to check O not if prego). Making an appt soon to see why I am not ovulating and why no more AFs....frustrating...I went off BC in Nov/Dec-ish....only had 3 AFs since on my own - 1 brought on by drugs. ARGH!
Best of luck to you!

Re: Going off BC and AF symptoms??
I went off BC and had normal AF for about 3 months, then it went wacky and ever since then i alternate - some months 'normal', other months not so normal.
Every woman is different, so it's hard to say what is 'normal' for you. As another poster said.. this whole thing is about the waiting game.. and it sucks! but hang in there, you'll get used to what your body is doing and hopefully be able to discern some sort of pattern to things.

Re: Going off BC and AF symptoms??
Since going off BCP my cycles have been fairly normal (luckily). But I have heard many women say their cycles were wacky after going off the BCP. I feel like I always have cramps and feel like I'm getting AF for a good week before it actually comes. It's annoying, but it is what it is.
If you're concerned, call your doctor. But I think what you're describing is normal for someone coming off BCP.

About 1 year ago I went off BC. I wasn't getting AF either for like 2 mos. The BC i was on was Orthro Tri LO. I totally thought I was Preg b/c just didn't get my period, but when I would POAS, I would get BFNs. Went to the Doctor and took a blood test. BFN! It ended up that b/c I was on a very low dose of BC, I was getting a AF, but would never know it b/c of how low my hormones were.
Hopefully you will get back on track soon!
