Day 1 of Demo and already problems...word to the wise...
Just a note...when checking soffits to see if there are any piping or such in them, do not just put little holes in them and think that you can order ceiling high cabinetry b/c you did not see anything initially. This is what we did, and now we have to reorder cabinets on one side of our kitchen, because we did not "see" a huge waste pipe that was so obviously there when the walls came down. Shoot me....
on a good note...the entire kitchen and foyer is demolished and ready for plumbing and electrical work to begin today. The remainder of the room can be completed exept for the top cabinet above my kitchen sink...when the cabinets come in in 3 to 4 weeks...he will install them at that time...
to complicate matters, my mom was rushed to the hospital via ambulance for pneumonia yesterday morning and is currently in ICU...
