grew up in Stapleton
parents then moved to Grant City.

DH is from Staten Island.
We lived there for 3 years, we lived in Tottenville, Rossville and then Willowbrook.
DH's step mom still lives in Richmondtown.
I can try to answer questions for you
ETA-People make fun of SI alllll the time, but we felt that it was the most affordable burough to live in when we wanted more than just an apartment to rent.

i live in Staten Island now - I am moving though 
I grew up in Hugeunot now I live in Rossville/Charleston - like 5 minutes away from where I grew up......
I'm really picky about neighborhoods on SI and I'm a south shore girl so I might be the wrong person to ask

my uncle lives in Rosebank. I go there all the time.
it's literally right off the Verrazzano and fairly close to the ferry, so it's great for commuting purposes.
there are nice homes and it's pretty quiet, but still within close proximity to shops and such on Bay Street and I think Hylan Blvd...it's also close to a nice beach/boardwalk.

DH and I both grew up in SI. I lived in Great Kills and DH lived in New Springville. When we got married, we moved to NJ because we both worked there so it just made sense for us.
Both of our families still live there.
