Re: Which bath wash/shampoo for newborns?
We used burts bees or California baby from day one. Both of my girls have very sensitive skin and these 2 seem to be the best on them.

Re: Which bath wash/shampoo for newborns?
I love, love, love California Baby. I use J&J now, because I received so much if it at my shower, but as soon as it is done, I am going right back to CB. It seems expensive, but it lasts forever and it smells so good!

I use J&J baby wash and DD has no issues with it. I think it will depend on your child's skin though and if she is sensitive to it or not.
j and j for us too!

Actually just water for the first month! I've got some J&J and Baby Magic for when we make the switch.

the first few weeks my ped recomended using mild uncented soap like dial.
Are you sure it was 'Dial' that was suggested? Dial is actually very harsh on skin. I was told by my derm to stop using it as a teenager b/c it was extremely drying to my skin. Maybe it was Dove that your ped suggested?

Re: Which bath wash/shampoo for newborns?
From day 1 we've used Dove white, and still do. Our pediatrician told me that many of the "baby" products including J&J are very drying.
For shampoo we used Burts bee's at first. We tried California Baby but one of my kids had an allergic reaction to it. Now we use Fairy Tales.

DO you mean Dial or Dove? Dial is antibacterial.
Now that everyone is saying that, it might have been dove.. mommy brain.. i really dont rememeber i know it was fragrence free and recomended by the ped... not to use j&j and all that fancy stuff at first b/c babies skin is sensitive.
