Any advice for painting stripes?
We are going to be painting one wall of stripes in the baby's nursery.
Any tips at all that might be helpful?
Thanks!

Re: Any advice for painting stripes?
Don't leave the tape on too long. We painted stripes in Nikolas' room.
To do shadow stripes (if you're interested): Paint the area the color you want in eggshell, then measure and tape off the area the following day. Next paint the stripes the exact same color in a high gloss.

Shadow stripes are the stripes that are the same color but different finish. We did it in our living room - but we used matte paint and high gloss paint. So it went matte stripe, gloss stripe, matte, gloss. It's more subtle than using different colors.
We did 7 3/4" wide stripes... I wanted 8" - but we only did one wall so they just measured it out and did the stripes so they'd all be exactly the same width. We had a painting company do it - we were having our whole house painted at the time.
My brother did it in his house - he said it was very tedious! The measuring is the hard part!!

Re: Any advice for painting stripes?
After you tape, paint inward. Do not paint outward over the tape because the paint can bleed under the stripes. Using a brush or roller just paint inward over the tape. (i hope that makes sense)

We did this.
A wider stripe is more casual, closer more formal. We went with wider, 12 inch stripes. I will post more info about how we did after. Thanks!
