ANYONE TAKING MEDICATIONS THAT MIGHT AFFECT BABY?

we're hoping to TTC in the next few months. but i'm extremely worried b/c i'm taking medications that may affect the fetus. the last thing i want to do is do any harm to the baby but at the same time, there is a chance that if i go off the meds my health might be affected too Chat Icon

i know this is soemthing i need to talk to my doctors about but i was wondering if someone here that might going thru similar situation. right now, i'm really at lost. i know i have to take care of my own health of the sake of my DH and DS but i really want #2 Chat Icon

eta: the medication i'm taking is fda approved for pregnancy but for what i understand, it was tested on animals and not enough data on humans.

I am in your boat. I had to stop the only successful protocol for my rheumatoid arthritis because it was so dangerous.

My advice-see a geneticist. They research every medication you are on and tell you what class they are. Then take the info back to your doctors and research a plan to see if there is something safer you can be doing.

If I can help, feel free to FM me! I am so there with you!

we're not quite TTC yet but i can definitely sympathize. i have asthma and horrible allergies and i have to go off both of my medications for those two things. i've been taking them for years so i'm really nervous about it. my obgyn said that sometimes asthma actually improves with pregnancy and then sometimes it gets worse. i'm hoping i'll be one of the "improvements!" definitely talk to your doctor's about it and see what they say.
