Another pashmina question
Does this count as a pashmina? I'm looking for something to wear with knit/beachy dinner dresses on vacation when it gets chilly at outside dinners. I was at Old Navy the other day and saw these scarves scarf link
they are actually really cute in person.
When I was asking about what to wear with this dress in another post someone suggested a fun color, which I love the idea of.
So would pink look totally weird with this dress in black? If not, any other recs would be great. I'm horrible with accessorizing to the point that I usually avoid it altogether!

I like that scarf, but I dont think it'll keep you warm like a pashmina if it's a little chilly out.

That's part of my concern. So what exactly makes a pashmina a pashmina? Does it have to be made out of a certain type of material?
I know you can buy them in the city but does anyone know of a reasonable place on line or on LI?

Not sure what actually makes it a pashmina, but it has much more fabric than the one you posted.
Maybe try Tri County Flea Market, or even Target and Walmart probably have them too.

Re: Another pashmina question
I found this on wikipedia
Pashmina refers to a type of fine cashmere wool and the textiles made from it.[1][2] The name comes from Pashmineh, made from Persian pashm (= "wool").[2] The wool comes from changthangi or pashmina goat, which is a special breed of goat indigenous to high altitudes of the Himalayas. Pashmina shawls are hand spun, woven and embroidered in Kashmir, and made from fine cashmere fiber.
Years ago my boss (in the textile business) had me go to meet a lady who sold Pasminas from her home. They were made from the goat's hair left on thistle after they were eating. They were super expensive b/c someone had to collect the little hairs and make yarn out of them.
For $5 the ones on the street totally serve their purpose...so many great colors!!
