clomid opinion- what would you do?
So, I had some bloodwork done last week to see if Iam ovulating after coming off bcp. I am waiting for the results, but during the meeting with the dr. he did mention clomid. I was reading upon it and there seems to be alot involved. I am really not so hyped up about this process and I am having second thoughts (not that we even know if clomid is the way to go yet). I have only been off bcp for 3 cycles. I used an opk this month and haven't gotten a +, so that is what prompted me to see the dr. If my hormones levels aren't indicating that I am ovulating, do you think I should give my body a chance to regulate before going the clomid route?

Just FYI- there is really not alot involved with clomid. You take a pill for 5 days and then you go in for a couple of sonograms and they tell you when to BD.

It truly depends how aggressive you want to be with TTcing....If you want to be aggressive then go with clomid...If not give your body a chance to regulate...
Depending on your body it can take some time for you body to regulate again...

Thanks ladies. I was reading online and of course they give you every scenario. It made it seem like there was alot more dr. involvement. You did ease my mind!

Re: clomid opinion- what would you do?
i think the involvement depends on who gives it to you. I was prescribed it from my GYN who did not take any blood or monitor me while on it for 5 days.
if you are under the care of an RE, they will monitor you more closely.
at least thats what i learned on here.
I took it for 5 days, 5o mg and it was fine.
I was on BC for 10 years and went off Feb 08. the first few months were fine, but then they got screwey. So it all depends on how long you want to wait for your body to regulate. it can take up to a year to become normal again off BC.

I would wait until you find out the results of the bloodwork. If you're not ovulating, then discuss the best plan w/ you dr. If you are O'ing, maybe u can give it a few more months if you're not super into doing Clomid.
Def do whatever u feel most comfortable with!

I would follow my gut, and not do anything I wasn't ready for.
