16 week appointment Update!!!
So i have my 1st shot today, i have 20 all together. i get a shot once a week for 20 weeks. and im so scared, i heard that it hurts, and i think its going too. the solution is oil based and looks every thick, and i have to get 1cc of that injected into my tush. Ouch! i can just feel it now. And then everything else is just a regular OB check up. And then i make my level 2 appointment today.
Update!!!! Everything looks great! Cervix is measuring nice and long. HB 150bpm, and i got my 1st shot!!! I am very proud of myself. I didnt cry... I am alittle embarassed though, im a RN, and i cant even give myself a shot. Honestly they werent that bad.

Ehh.. they aren't a big deal. I did IVF and had DH do them for me.
A heating pad works wonders if you stick it on a few seconds afterwards.
If you are going to the drs for them, maybe get those "hand warmer" things and stick it on your tush after?

I have to do them daily. DH does them and it only stings for a second when he sticks it in. I don't feel anything after that.

totally agree! Once you get past the first one, the rest will be a piece of cake! I also had to do them every day due to IVF.

thats a great idea, i have them on my floor i am gonna stick one right on.

I'm not going to lie, they didn't hurt at 1st I did the icing thing and the heatting pad and it helped at 1st then after doing them for a while they started to really hurt me. The last few weeks were killer!! I've been done with them for almost 3 weeks and my tush is still pretty sore!! Maybe its just me and I'm a baby but to me they hurt. I wish you the best of luck and hope time flies so you finish your shots!!

i have been doing them for 6 weeks now due to IVF & can honestly say they don't hurt that bad. Now that my tush is getting sore, I find it pinching more but I have until Friday! You can do it!

After IVF, they have to be done daily. I had a nurse do it for me and I never felt a thing. If a professional is doing it, they should know exactly where it goes so that it doesn't hurt you.

i didnt use IVF, but since i lost a pregnancy at 20 weeks, they feel that this is an effective way to prevent preterm labor.

did them for IVF as well...I always iced the area for about 3 minutes, then DH stuck it in (lol) then I would put a warm washcloth on after..it helps to alternate sides too.

I had to do them every day until 11 weeks too... bring something to warm the spot, and massage it for a minute or two and it will make it better
