Your going to have a intimate relationship with this person for the next 9 months. You need feel like this person is your advocate, and that you can ask them anything, and that they are going to be there for you and answer your question thoroughly, Unfortunately some doctors, are always in a rush and take on too many patients.
i hope you find someone you love!

If you're not comfortable with your OB, then I would switch. This is the person that will be delivering your baby and you need to feel 100% comfortable.

My thoughts exactly. I would totally switch. You do not want someone who appears to be so cold.

Re: Opinions Please!! I need Help
The thing is I have been going to here for 4 years and yes there are other dr in the practice so I might just switch to the other one that I saw at my first visit!! I'm just more in shock how she was with me. ok yes all the other years were just a quick gyn exam but now I am having my first child hello alittle more time would of been nice!! So I guess I will change my appointment with her and make a new one with another one in the practice. Has anyone done that before??

Re: Opinions Please!! I need Help
i have to agree with both the PP's....
this person is going to be your closest source of knowledge, your 'be all, end all' as far as advice goes, as far as testing goes, etc. If you are not 100% happy with them, going to the doc will become a chore instead of the happy/fun time it should be (seeing the baby, talking about the baby, etc)...
I know with my practice, they suggest that you see EVERYONE in the practice, just in case your specific doc isn't the one on call when you go into labor...so if you are ever questioned - that could be your answer...(though judging by what you say - i don't think she'd ever question it).
I can't tell you the RELIEF i felt when we left our first OB appointment. I kept saying over and over that i was so happy that i had this doc already (she has been my gyn for 2 years now) and that i was so happy with her. She made both of us very comfortable and answered ANY questions we had. That sort of stuff is VERY important to me...as it should be to you!

I agree 100% I guess I'm more in shock with her behavior I did not expect that at all from her. I know alot of people that go to her.

Then maybe you should go with your gut. Change back to the other doctor and maybe try one more appointment with your 'regular' doc.
Maybe she was just having a terrible day...i know we all have them - but we tend to NOT forgive when doctors or teachers, etc. have bad days....
