DH and I have a plan for when we start to TTC
We decided that when we start, we're going to go to our honeymoon spot and make it like a "second" honeymoon.
I am VERY DOUBTFUL that we will conceive like the first 2 weeks of trying!!! But, the idea of having a "honeymoon" baby is cute.
I just hope I am not setting myself up for disappointment and that I am still able to enjoy the trip.
(If this has anything to do with it, I was on the pill for about 10 years, so that will probably make things even harder!) What do you ladies think? Am I setting myself up for a disappointment if we celebrate starting TTC with a "second" honeymoon?

you're not setting yourself up for sadness - but PLEASE prepare yourself for the fact that it can take a VERY long time to conceive for some....but others, it's one try and blammo....
the first month with a BFN is one of the most painful...especially if you have something 'planned around it'.
BUT - if you plan far enough in advance and PREPARE yourself that it may not happen, you might be okay...
either way - remember to ENJOY IT!!!!!!

I think so long as you don't put too much pressure on the trip, and make the goal a wonderful time for you both as a couple, it won't be a failure or disappointment!
I'd also go off the pill a few months before the trip to give yourself time to regulate if that is really the goal. I was on the pill for 10 years, and got my BFP the third month off the pill. The first two my cycles were all over the place, and I couldn't predict ovulation. Some people get PG the first month off the pill, but for others it takes a very long time. There's just no way to know.

You never know!
For some people, they plan and get pregnant... while for others, they plan and don't. It's just one of those things you really can't predict!
I wish the best for you! A honeymoon baby sounds very sweet!

Thanks! I'm sure it's much easier said than done! I imagine that once we officially start ttc, I will become a maniac!! but the idea of kick starting the baby making with a second honeymoon sounds like a fun idea to me so I will try not to let a BFN spoil it ... in fact, I will make it easier on myself by EXPECTING IT so if it's that's the case, I'm not completely disappointed

Thanks for the advice- I actually just started seeing a new ob/gyn and discussed this with him. He said a few months before we want to try, I should make an appt and I'll start going off the pill and going on prenatal vitamins. I would probably do this like 3 months in advance.
I am so nervous because I went on the pill almost 10 years ago for period problems and I basically NEVER HAD A NORMAL PERIOD .. EVER!! So I am hopeful that life after the pill will be much more "regular" than it was a 14
