Would it be rude...
to have a baby shower and an engagement party? Is that asking too much of people. Also, I live in VA so Id have to make a trip to NY for both. Would it be odd to have a combined baby shower/engagement shower...Probably..too expensive for people.

Are you planning on getting married before the baby? If not I would just skip the E party and have the baby shower. THen have the bridal shower after the birth.

Re: Would it be rude...
Personally, I wouldn't do it, but that's just me. I'm not big on engagement parties.

Re: Would it be rude...
IMO yes...
I think your timing would really depend on everything.
Like if you were going to have an e-party and then a baby shower 9 months later, and then a wedding 2yrs after that- then I dont see that being a problem.
If I were Id totally skip the e-party and just have the baby shower- you need that stuff more!

I agree.
You do not NEED an engagement party, you will need a baby shower.

I agree nad if you're getting married afte rthe baby then you'll have a bridal shower anyway...I would not do it together it is 2 seperate things that should be celebrated seperatly..IMHO

Re: Would it be rude...
My friend just did this and I thought it was kinda tacky (IMHO), she had an engagement party and a baby shower within a month
I was away for the eparty.
She's getting married next summer (she had the baby in august) so we still have a the bridal shower and bachelorette and all that to deal with.
