Re: Baby wearing.......

My DD hated it, hoping one of the twins likes it better.

Re: Baby wearing.......

I've read some like it some don't. Also it depends on the different slings/wraps used and methods of carrying.

My mother did it and she loved it because she was able to do stuff around the house. Instead of trying to rock me to sleep all the time she would put me in the sling and go about her day and I was happy as a clam!

I plan on trying it, success will depend on how comfortable it is I guess....and if he likes it of course. Thanks for posting. Chat Icon

Re: Baby wearing.......

I have a lot of friends who do this, and I hope that I can wear my next baby. There are so many great slings out there (and even a Bjorn is fine for babywearing) and its such a great way to have your baby close to you! When I had my son I was literally unable to put him down for six months, the only thing that calmed him down was having him close to me. I wasn't confident enough with a sling, but knowing what I know now, I would get a sling right away.

You might also want to look up baby wearing support groups, I know that where I live, we have a sling me support group weekly, so there is lots of support out there! Good luck with the babywearing!!!

Re: Baby wearing.......

honestly i like the idea, but I'm also a bit fearful, I'm the biggest clutz in the world, not dramatizing at all..so I would be so nervous I would fall, trip or bump into something wearing her, I don't know how comfortable I would be..sounds childish, but a very big fear of mine..to this day I freak out about the steps in our house, we live in a split and i'm always frightened I'm going to be holding her and g-d forbid fall down the stairs....

I'm the same way....a walking bruise. But the way I see it I would rather fall with her strapped to me in a sling or wrap then have her loose in my arms.

I'm actually goign to go to a store near me in CT that has a TON of different slings and wraps and try one. They help to fit them and show you how to properly use them.

Its a comfort thing that I'm sure will take some getting use to...who knows my baby may hate it Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Baby wearing.......

I'm def going to try it...I have a weird feeling she's going to like it, It's my own theory that I have been ultra active this pregnancy walking everywhere and just up and out all the time, and I think the baby gets used to that, so I feel like she'll be a spunky one and want to still feel that movement not sitting in a swing lulled unfortunately...Chat Icon i was like that too as a baby, my mom always tells me that I never could just relax as a baby i needed to be bounced, played with just kept busy all the time..I'm still like that Chat Icon

Re: Baby wearing.......

I didn't do it but when I sat with the baby, I did a lot of kangaroo time (baby held skin to skin).

I think that a lot of people who do attachment parenting also do elimination communication. I find that interesting but I didn't do it.

This was my DHs concern about me...tripping, and baby being confined under me when I fall...
