PSA for moms of all thumb suckers...
pacifier users, bottle drinkers, etc...
Scotty needs braces, to the tune of $5200...by the time the little ones are bigger, can you imagine how much they'll be??!!!

 Well, DD never used a pacifier and doesn't suck her thumb at this point...
But, she still does get a bottle of milk right before bed. So she may not need braces, but cavities may be prevalent

My 7 1/2 year old still sucks her fingers.
The middle and ring fingers. The dentist told us at her 1st visit that it was already a done deal. (She was 3 1/2 - 4 yrs old).
Well you can't cut em' off.

DS at 14 months still sucks his thumb and ... I cannot believe I am admitting this puts his index finger in his nose. We try to remove it but he thinks it is a game and just tries to push it in farther.   
Do you have any remedies to help me stop him from doing this? We have pictures of him in the womb sucking his thumb.

I was already told that both my kids will need braces!
ETA: They don't use pacifiers or suck there thumbs....

Sorry that sucks..
I never sucked my thumb or used a pacifier and had braces for four years. My sister on the other hand sucked her thumb until 12 and never needed braces.

I sucked my thumb into the double digits.
I am one of the few people I know who never had - or needed - braces.

I've been told that pacifers can prevent this in some cases.....which is why DS has one. I got braces when I was 10 from sucking my thumb.....

DD inherited her Daddys bite and loves her thumb. Unfortunately I have no connection in ortho  It's gonna be super expensive!

Ugh...do they have a payment plan?
It is inevitable that my DD will need braces. Both DH and I did.
I sucked my knuckle on my pointer finger until I got braces...
My DD used a paci till she was 2...never sucked her thumb, but I'm sure she inherited my teeth...
Heck, I had braces and still need braces!! All my teeth shifted because of molars and lack of retainer use!

My sister sucked her thumb until she was 18. She needed to have her jaw broken and reset to correct it. Her jaw was wired shut for 8 weeks and then she had braces for 3 years after that. Cost was about 18,000 -- in 1987!!

And yet AGAIN, the super twins strike!!
Megan sucks her left thumb (never her right LOL) and shows NO SIGNS of giving it up EVER!!!!
