Is it ever too late to get the AFP done?
I keep forgetting and I am 19 weeks tomorrow but probably won't get a chance to go until Tuesday at which time I will be almost 20 weeks.

Why didn't you go at 16 weeks? Isn't that the "normal" time to run it? Call the Dr, maybe it can still be done. I just thought it was a routine test done at 16 weeks.

I think there is a certain time line for it....call your practitioner to double check...or the lab!

When I went a few weeks ago they told me to go in 2 weeks which I thought was this week. I will have to call when I get home.

16-18 weeks is ideal, but I do believe they have values they can check beyond that.

I think the regular timeline is 16-18 wks but I don't know if 20 wks is "too" late. Call the doc!
