Do we need an official *induction* thread??
Hi girlies! WOw what a long day, but a few updates regarding my 'high fluid' situation.. 39+ wks... Went to the OB today, and they did a second "GOO"cose test. Blecho. The high fluid could be related to late developing GD, not that there's much we can do about that at this point, but there you go. Results tomorrow.
So that's all good. In 2 out of 3 cases, there's no definitive reason for the extra fluid... so I'm feeling better about that now. BUT they won't let me go past my due date by much because of this, sooooooo if baby doesn't get a move on by Tuesday night, I am under orders to get to Mt Sinai in NYC by 10pm to get induced. My mucus plug made an appearance this morning though, so as exciting as I found that, none of the medical types are moved by that info at all....
After watching the laugh and learn video last night, now I have a new worry -- that Pitocin stuff seems to kick mommy's *ss, right? So that's my update, and I've been talking nice to baby all day so that he might decide to start his trip sooooooon..... ********** Oh and in case anyone else has/develops "high fluid" the other possible causes were a)viral infection (doc tells me this is NOT what they're going to find) and b) possible birth defect related to swallowing, which I Googled myself into a panic about yesterday. - doc assures me its not that also since the levels would be sky high, and it would've been picked up sooner than this anyway. Whew. A little google is a dangerous thing...
So now its all

Oh Colette, I'm hoping that your little bundle starts kicking into high gear this weekend. I don't care what your doctors say, I find your loss of mucus plug to be exciting news. What the hell do they know anyway???

Just for some hope for you - I had a bloody show on Saturday night and lost mucus plug sunday morning and went into labor that night.
Labor vibes to you - pitocin when it is cranked up can be intense - the epidural makes it all better
Good Luck
