How much are you spending on the crib?
We went to a baby furniture store last weekend and the prices seemed high, especially compared to the chain stores like BRU. I just want to get an idea of what cribs typically cost.
If you don't mind posting, please share the brand and around how much you paid. TIA.

I bought two Renew Standard Cribs by Rockland from JCP for $200 each. They are simple cribs(not convertible) and the company plants 10 trees for each crib they manufacture.

Re: How much are you spending on the crib?
My crib was $499 made by Westwood. I don't have a picture but I bought it at Buy Buy Baby and got an additional 20% with a coupon. It got good reviews from the baby bargain book.

Re: How much are you spending on the crib?
I went to behrs for a baby belly class and was stunned at the pricing of their furniture
We wanted BABY furniture... crib and changing table/dresser. Not a full transitional furniture set that lasts until the teen years, since we don't have the space right now, and we want a second baby in the future.
So, we got a babymod crib and changing table. The crib was something like $315 and the changing table was something like $250 I forgot the exact prices, but it wasn't very much.
The furniture is great quality... solid wood, very well-built, and substantial... The crib also comes with a conversion kit (to a toddler bed). however, we bought it w/o seeing it in person, so we depended upon the 30+ five star customer reviews online.
at any rate, my experience is that you don't HAVE to spend a lot of $$ for decent furniture. Just make sure the customer reviews are all extremely good.... Image Attachment(s):

Re: How much are you spending on the crib?
We went a bit insane on furniture, my mom bought us the crib which was 850 and then a few other pieces were us and DH's parents bought us a piece..the crib converts into a toddler bed, not a full size bed. DH and I just fell in love with the set, and unfortunately it cost a lot. It's also gender neutral so we're hoping to use it for the next one, and considering the price, it better last till the next one

Re: How much are you spending on the crib?
We just bought our crib yesterday from Sukon's. Its a Bonavita and it cost $499.99. They gave me a flyer yesterday that they are having a tent sale the end of this month. They're going to have items 20%-50% off. Image Attachment(s):

I am not into the whole expensive baby furniture thing.. I just dont see the point and I have yet to know anyone that actually used the furniture as "lifetime" pieces. They either have more kids or buy new stuff when it is time.

Re: How much are you spending on the crib?
Nothing this time around since DS is getting DD's crib but our crib for DD was about $700. It is a solid wood, convertible crib. We wanted furniture that would last a long time that is why we were willing to spend more on the front end. We don't plan to replace any of it any time soon.

Re: How much are you spending on the crib?
My crib was 900 plus tax and delivery not including the matress.....alil expensive, but its a bedroom set, one that she will use for years..my son will be 10 next month and still using most of his furniture.. i felt it was a good investment... it does convert into a full size..and i plan on using it as such... i bought from Behrs which is where i bought for my DS 10 years ago.

I'm probably getting a PB crib, and they run around $700 or so. These are my two favorites.... Image Attachment(s):

Re: How much are you spending on the crib?
I'm spending $700. It may be considered a splurge but the quality is very good and it's convertible so should last DC well into grade school and even beyond.

I think we are getting the Pottery Barn Skylar crib which costs around 700 bucks. It's a lot, but we're only getting the crib (it has drawers underneath.)
