i have a web link for coach where you can enter the bag number and it will give you a picture of the bag...where the frigg is it now....
ETS: Ok...here we go...here's the link that was sent to me. When you open it up you want to change the 4 digit number (6371) in the web address to the number that is in your bag. Dont change anything else. If it is a real bag it will come up with the picture, it is a fake the wrong picture will display or you will get an error message on the website.

It should have a leather stamp inside the bag stating that it was manufactured in China from the finest materials etc. and then on the bottom there should be a No. if you google that serial number your bag should pop up.
ETA: I worked for Coach so I can tell you if its real or not.

question though - couldnt people fake the bag and include the appropriate number in the fake?

I just tried to click on that link and a pic of a blue bag comes up, no website...the # on the bag is Lo726-11971..thats whats on the leather part on the inside..so confused

Your serial number should be 11971 (which doesnt work on the website)

nope! serial numbers are the same for all bags that are they same style.
they also have a separate color code but the are only on the tag when u purchase the bag.
like the carly bag is serial number 10620 in every color and the tag will say BK/BK if its black on black.
so no worries!
