Opinions please - candle poem for bridal shower
Okay, I wrote up my own little version of a Yankee Candle poem for a bridal shower I am going to this weekend. Just looking for opinions on if it's okay, and if anyone can think of anything to add!! Thanks!! (just want to add, they are getting married the beginning of August and expecting in November, so that's the reasoning behind the order of the candles)
A basket of candles for you to burn
as your life takes many twists and turns
Wedding Day should be burned at the start of your life,
to celebrate your first night as husband and wife.
Burn Autumn Leaves on a cool October's eve
to relax and rejoice on what you are about to receive
Lilac blossom should burn for the birth of your child
be prepared for your nights to become quite wild
Home for the holidays is for your first family christmas
To stay warm and toasty, Baby, Mr. & Mrs.
Sage & Citrus should burn on your first new year;
may it bring you both love and lots of good cheer.
Burn Sweet Strawberry to pave the way
on celebrating your first married valentine's day.
And when your 1st year of marriage is through;
the cottage breeze candle should burn for you two.
Congratulations on the start of your life together;
may the two of you be happy, always and forever.
Burn these candles just the way that it's said;
but please don't forget to blow them out before bed !

Thanks everyone!! I am going to stick with this. I am going to Yankee Candle tomorrow....hopefully they have all the ones I need!! Or I am going to be doing some scent substitutions!!!

Cute
I used the original version of the poem for my sister's candle basket and she read it at her shower. I don't think there was a dry eye in the place!

sounds great!
my best friend did this for my shower and it had us all in tears!
she also got me tiffany candlestick holders at my eparty which i thought was cute so that i could use them both
