Dr. Brown's Update - Babies R' Us

I just spoke with someone at the store in WESTBURY and they ARE taking back NO BOX, NO RECEIPT. She said they may limit the amt you can return but they will definitely take some.

I have mine stored away in ziploc baggies as DS is no longer using them but I am going to give this a shot next week!!!

Just wanted to share...

Please post if you know of other stores that are taking back without packing/receipt...

I think I saw in a diff post that Sayville is a good loc as well but that is very far for us Western Nassau...

Who did you speak with - I forgot to write down the name of the person I spoke with but they told me no they weren't taking any back without box or receipt - so if I bring it back I can mention their name.

Re: Dr. Brown's Update - Babies R' Us

I just spoke with someone at the Sayville store and she said that the only way they will take back the bottles without receipts is if they were on a baby registry and fall within the 90 day return policy. Otherwise they will not take them back without box and receipt.

They took my 2 year old bottles back lastnight without a problem or registry check Chat Icon as well as Christina(Briansbaby) yesterday and Ladybug. I would still try in person and say Yvette ok'd it over the phone.

This is awesome! I'm going to give it a try tomorrow in Westbury. Is Yvette from Westbury or Sayville?

It seems totally unfair that it's an inconsistent return policy! It seems to depend on the store and the manager. I'm going to go to college point sometime this week. I'm going to try and contact dr. brown's directly if BRU won't take them back.

Here's my update. I just got back from Sayville. They will allow you to exchange them for BPA-free bottles. No more store credit. If in fact the bottles are eventually recalled, then they will have have no choice but to refund you, but until then, this is all they will give.

My friend went there yesterday (Sayville BRU) with a ton of the Dr.Browns and the girl told her she could only return either with a receipt or if they were purchased off her registry Chat Icon ...It seems like its up to the discretion of whomever is there that day ! She did get to return 3 of them so its still better than nothing !

Re: Dr. Brown's Update - Babies R' Us

I bet they are going to have to come up with a consistent policy or at least consistent within each store location. This is crazy! Does anyone know what BBB is doing? Some of mine are from there anyway.

Re: Dr. Brown's Update - Babies R' Us

geezz.. now they say they will take back.. I called the other day and they told me no. I drove all the way to sayville today and they tell me, they want receipt or bought off register within 90 days!!!.. i was livid. I told her i had just spoken to someone yesterday who told me as long as the bottles were in good condition and all parts were there, a manager will approve for the credit.

She called her manager and they ended up taking back all my DR. Browns and my adventair bottles.. and got the total cost of each bottle and accessiors. As long as i bought new bottles they were willing to give me store credit. I ended up buying Born Free bottles, and saving for my next child.

I was able to exchange 18 plastic Dr. Brown's bottles today for the glass ones without a problem.

Though it just dawned on me that this post probably won't help anyone--I'm in Charlotte. Chat Icon

Did you need ALL the parts? I still haven't tried here in LA but I can't find all the nipple covers. If they will take them back its worth buying some extras since I have ten bottles.

Out of 18 bottles, we only had 3 caps, so we left them off and hoped they wouldn't say anything--which they didn't.

Give it a try, you never know! They wouldn't give us merchandise, but they gave us a dollar-for-dollar exchange for the glass ones.

I was there around 1:30 today and they would only allow me to exchange. No store credit. DH and DS were in the car and I just didn't have time to exchange them, so I'll probably go again this week. DS doesn't even use bottles anymore! I'll have to save them for the next baby, whenever that is. . . . .

Re: Dr. Brown's Update - Babies R' Us

I just went to the Babies R Us in East Hanover, NJ on Rt. 10. I got $56 worth of "exchange credit" for new bottles. I thought I only returned 12 bottles but the guy ringing me scanned the wide neck twice and the standard neck twice Chat Icon giving me a bottle credit for 16 bottles Chat Icon. I ended up getting 3 packages of Avent bottles (1 in each size) and some other stuff and only had to pay $2 and change. Technically I did get other bottles (I will keep them in the original packaging and hold onto the receipt until Avent makes a BPA free bottle) even though it was not an even exchange. They were very nice to me and did not question it at all.
If anyone is going there, when I called, I spoke with Denise. She told me just to go to the service counter and ask for the Manager on Duty. Chris was the manager on duty and Maurice rang me up. I was missing 2 caps and 1 nipple and they didn't give me any problems whatsoever Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
