Re: i wonder....
My friend did that when she was trying. From the day her period ended until the day it was due, there was about 4 days she didnt throughout the month.
Her method worked....she got pregnant with twins.

Well this may be TMI but I'm trying out the BD every other day method. I'll let you know the outcome in about 18 days. LOL!

I know when I O from using an OPK last time. I get my period every 28 days so I have a 28 day cycle. I know that 13-14 days from the day I first got my period I O. I think this is very common too.

Actually it's not that common for women to have a perfect 28 day cycle. But it is common that you will (or should) typically get your period 14 days after you ovulate.
If you don't want to chart or use OPKs yet, I would suggest just getting to know your body. The first day of your cycle is the first day of a full flow (not spotting). Keep a calendar and just count the days until the start of your next period. That should help give you an idea of when in your cycle you ovulate.

They aren't that expensive. I am trying without it this month (which I know regret) and then next month will use the OPK. I worked the first month we used it last time so I figure it is worth the money for us.
I can't naturally tell without the OPK. But I guess some can.

Sorry I meant ovulating on the 13th or 14th day. That is what FF and MMC said anyway. I don't really know

I agree with this.
The only way to know for sure if you ovulated is by temping or by blood test. I have short LP, so my period does not come 14 DPO but 10 DPO, although I did get my LP up to 12 days.

Re: i wonder....
If you really wanted to simplify it-- you could just have sex 3X a week, every week. Then you should cover you bases, regardless of when you O.
I read that somewhere.

I agree completely. Back in college when we were trying not to get pregnant my DH (BF at the time) helped me figure out my cycle...yes strange but he's a numbers guy so he made a spreadsheet on excel for me. I plug in the first day of each period and it calculates the average of my cycle and even predicts my next one...pretty cool.
Anyway...I can average anywhere from 27 - 29 days between cycles so when we decided to TTC I knew when my 'window' was and once I started feeling some cramping around that time we got serious. We did it once a day every day and were fortunate to have it work for us. Hopefully it will be the same the next time around...I still maintain that chart.
Funny thing...before I had the chart I swore I was irregular seeing the information in front of me helped me to understand my cycles a lot better. And getting back to the OP's ? - for me, BDing every day (I think it was three days before and three days after the date I expected to O) seemed to work. Might not for everyone and I don't think we could have kept it up like that.

Let me see if I can clear it and preserve all the formulas...so long as it isn't driven by my cycle...meaning it can be universally used. I'll see what I can do and I'll fm you.

Our doc told us because Joe had a vasectomy reversal we should bd every day i'm oing like 3 TIMES a day...his "theory" is if I stay full that increases our odds.
