Anyone else Anemic????
I am usually anemic but currently I am really anemic and the pills my Doc wants me to take make me sick.
My question is, Are you really short of breath???? I have been since about 12 weeks(i am 19 now) and DH seems to think it is from being anemic because you don't have enough red blood cells to carry oxygen, Does this make sense?

No. i was Anemic with DD#1 and second pregnancy. I took the purple iron horse pills as well. I wasn't out of breathe until 30+ weeks (at least really bad). I got winded, but that is normal. You have shortness of breath and get winded easier when pregnant due to lower blood pressure. Your BP is lower when pregnant (or is normally).

I'm borderline anemic, despite being on iron pills, but I just attributed the shortness of breath to being pregnant overall. It became increasingly more noticeable to me between 10-20 weeks. At 23+ weeks I'm not not really experienceing it like I used to.

I am normally anemic, I cant even give blood and have to take repliva with the pregnancy. I am always short of breath when climbing the stairs. I never really tied it to the anemia or the pregnancy, because my mom is asthmatic. The repliva doesnt make me sick, but it will make you constipated with the quickness. Try to also eat spinach, pumpkin seeds, Liver (I hate it). A side effect of the anemia is constantly eating ice do you do that too?

I was anemic during pregnancy and I was extremely short of breath. However, I also had a pregnancy related heart problem. The shortness of breath was probably from a combo of the 2, or so I have been told.

I was really short of breathe with DS and I am with this pregnancy. I had Anemia with DS and had to take extra Iron that made me a little sick as well but so far, I'm not with this pregnancy (28 weeks).
I do get very short of breathe even though - so far I don't have anemia. I'm sure it doesn't help but I have the same shortness of breathe without the anemia.
