Baby Shower Ideas
Hi everyone,
I posted on Parenting but didn't get any answers. My sister is expecting a baby boy and I am planning her baby shower. I would love suggestions on a theme. I would like something unique and a bit elegant. She's the family Martha Stewart and did a great job on my bridal shower. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Baby Shower Ideas
For favors my aunt bought the small baby bottles and filled them with white M&M's (you can use marshmallows too if you want to cut corners). She then made these tags from card stock and wrote "got baby." If you know what she is having you can make the cow print in either blue or pink. The bottles came out really awesome. I'll try and find a pic.

Re: Baby Shower Ideas
Since the baby is due in April you could have an April showers bring May flowers type of theme.
You could do spring flowers for centerpieces. Daffodils/tulips in clear vases (depending on if she's having a firl or a boy) You could fill the vases with pink or blue glass marbles.
For favors, you could do seed packets.

Re: Baby Shower Ideas
I remember seeing on one of these boards, someone had a "cute as a button" theme. It was adorable!

Re: Baby Shower Ideas
Do you want it to be boy themed? Or just something sweet that your sister will enjoy? What kind of things does she like?
I always liked the tea party idea - mini sandwiches, teapot flower holders for centerpieces, that sort of thing.

I actually was thinking of the tea party idea myself but wasn't sure if it was appropriate since it's a boy. It might be a good idea though to focus on her and not just the fact that it's a boy.

Re: Baby Shower Ideas
I would pick a venue first and then plan around what the place looks like ect...
Theme? Centerpieces? Favors?
Can all be based on one image of an idea...

Re: Baby Shower Ideas
I like the tea party. My mom did a tea party for my bridal shower- she collected antique tea cups for a few months and used them as favors. Centerpieces were all random- vintage tins filled with random spring flowers. My table had a French Enamelware pitcher filled with tulips, and the pitcher was a gift for me. Classy. tea parties.

Re: Baby Shower Ideas
If I had a boy I wanted a "Ahoy...It's a Boy" theme.
I pictured Blue & White pin stripes, starfish soaps as favors, little wooden sailboats on the tables etc.
