Baby's Heartbeat
What is considered a fast heartbeat?
I'm 14 weeks and my baby's heartbeat is 165, is that considered fast or normal?
I'm trying to look for clues as to the sex of my baby...

Normal. Baby's heartbeat is approximately double whatever mommy's heartbeat is at the moment it is taken.

I read somewhere normal is 120-190. The old wives tale is 150 + is girl and below 150 is boy.

Mine was 169 at 9 weeks. I've heard that in the first trimester they are always around 150 +, later on they slow and thats when the gender predictions start. I'm curious to see what mine is at my next appt (15 weeks).

Totally normal... Kristina is usually at around 160 to 165 bpm...

It's normal but if you want to try to figure out girl or boy from it than I would say girl. Girl heartbeats tend to be faster.

very normal... every time i go i'm amazed at how fast her heart is beating... but the doctor never seems worried
