How long is your LP?
AF showed up today, on what I think is 10dpo. I've just read that that's not great.
So, how long is your Luteal phase? This is only my first month off BCP - did your's change as your cycle regulated after coming off BCP?
Thanks!

Re: How long is your LP?
I had a 9-10 day LP after I went off BCP and I read that B complex can help to lengthen it so I did and the first month it went to 12 days and has stayed there since.

Oh, thanks, but we're not TTC until January. It's just my first month off BCP and I'm just concerned I have a short luteal phase - the time between when you O and AF should be (according to some sources) 12-16 days. 10 days is quite short.
Kmac - thanks for the info, I'll give it a try!

Re: How long is your LP?
It took my cycle three cycles before everything was regulated after I got off BCP. I remember one cycle was like 42 days and the next was around 26, so don't worry, I'm sure you're body is just reregulating itself!!!

Re: How long is your LP?
For the first few months off BCP, you can't rely on your cycles to be normal - when I went off BCP my first cycle was 45 days, next cycle was 21 days, and then I got pg. But, usually, my cycles are 27-28 days. My luteal phase is usually 11 or 12 days - on the low side, but I just had my progesterone tested, which was normal.
I wouldn't take it to heart if your first cycle off BCP was really short - that's normal and probably not typical at all of what your regular cycles will be.

Re: How long is your LP?
your body will take some time to adjust after coming off BCP but your LP won't change by that much. it only fluctuates by 1-2 days max. so if your LP is 10 days right now, chances are that won't change. i would try the B complex that someone recommended. my LP is short too, 10-11 days and i think i will try the B complex as well to increase it a little.

Re: How long is your LP?
thanks, guys, for the info.
I know it's just my first month off - I'm trying not to obsess too much! Fat chance!
Before BCP, from what I remember, my cycle was pretty regular - probably about 30 days or so, but to be honest, I never really kept track, just sort of knew when about it would come. I've been on BCP for about 10 years and the last two or so, I've started to have midcycle spotting. Again, trying not to obsess, but I'm wondering if short LP, along with midcycle spotting is an indication of progesterone deficiency...
Oh, well, anyway, I had been taking folic acid, but just went and bought a pre-conception multivitamin that has B complex vitamins in as well. Thanks for the tip!
