Sushi-UPDATE
Is any and all raw fish out while TTC or just Tuna and Salmon? What if I have a shrimp tempura roll, a spicy california roll and a yellowtail/scallion roll?
Update:
Spicy Tuna Roll, Spicy Salmon Roll and Shrimp Tempura never tasted so good. I devoured it as if it was my last meal. So much better since I had not guilt

Re: Sushi
Why would sushi be out during TTC???
It is only not allowed while you are pregnant because of mercury levels not while you are TTC...
Raw sushi is actually very good while you are TTC because of Omega 3s & Omega 6s fish oils which are very beneficial to fertility and conception.....

Re: Sushi
I agree with the PP...and salmon is a great source of Omega-3 so it's never on the "avoid" list.
Everything in moderation...

I'm SOOOOO excited!!!!! I LOVE Tuna and Salmon!!!!!

Re: Sushi
I think its ok when TTC but they say to avoid raw seafood when pregnant b/c the high levels of mercury be harmful for the baby.

In addition you may get parasites from raw fish

Re: Sushi
Also, shrimp tempural is completely cooked (fried actually!) so no worry of raw fish there.
And california rolls typically use artificial crabmeat, so that shouldn't be a problem either

Re: Sushi-UPDATE
Actually, mecury in accumulated in your body since your birth, so eating it while pregnant doesnt really matter, according to the newest studies. The most recent reccomendations are that pregnant women should eat fish 3x wekk becuase the omega-3's promote fetal brain development.
But, sushi is out because of the risk of food borne illness from the uncooked fish.
